London & Devonshire Trust Limited
London & Devonshire Trust Limited is a private property company established in 1984 and specialising in commercial and industrial property development. LDT has concentrated on expanding its commercial development activities throughout its core areas of Devon and the South West.
Alongside the commercial and industrial development arm, LDT independently operates a number of separate divisions. These include; Devonshire Homes, an award winning residential house builder based in Tiverton; The Dragon Hotel, a premier 4 star hotel in Swansea and Trilogie CRE, a corporate real estate consultancy.
LDT has an impressive record in property development, with a reputation for proactively managing development risk and continuing to successfully deliver projects through the recent economic downturn. Projects have included:-
Tiverton Trade Park – In 2007 LDT created the 60,000sq ft Tiverton Trade Park, a refurbishment and remodelling of a site for occupiers Jewson, Howdens Joinery, Nuffield Hospitals and Floris. The whole project was completed within 12 months of acquisition.
Marsh Barton, Exeter – In 2008 LDT acquired a former Booker Cash and Carry unit, again of some 60,000sqft. The unit was completely redesigned and reconstructed to deliver a new facility for Alliance Healthcare who were in occupation on budget within a rigorous timescale of 10 months.
No 1 Portbury – In 2009 LDT acquired No 1 Portbury, an 80,000 sqft high bay 20-year old building that required up-dating and improving to achieve a market–facing facility. Occupier Samworth Brothers secured the lease subject to special fit-out requirements which were completed on budget against a strict timescale.
Mid Devon Business Park – A 15-acre business park close to J27 of the M5. The park currently comprises two speculative phases of light industrial/business units. Ethmar Court, totalling 24,500 sqft in 15 units, came on stream in 2008 and Highmount Court, comprising 13,700sq ft in 4 units, was completed in 2010. (www.mdbp.co.uk)
